Default Comparision 15 Kawasaki vs 17 Subaru powered Precedent

This morning I stopped by a local Club Car dealer and was looking around. He had a nice clean used 15 with the 11 HP Kawasaki and a new left over 17 with the Subaru EFI. I drove them back to back.

I drove the 15 first and I was disappointed in the way it ran. I used the GPS on my phone and it ran about 12 mph. To be fair it was a gravel parking lot and not that long. I then drove the 17 and what a difference. It felt a ton better from the first press of the gas. It ran 18 mph where the 15 ran 12.

I think in an open area both would run better to be fair.

I've been looking at a 14 Yamaha, but now I am considering the left over 17 Precedent.

I had both the Kawasaki and now have the Subaru and the Subaru has a lot more power for climbing hills. To be fair my new 17 precedent Subaru only ran 12MPH when I bought it but it is a simple adjustment to get more speed. With a lift and bigger tires and a few turns of the throttle cable I can do around 25mph and still climb hills with ease.

Have you had any issues? Are you happy with the Subaru?

No issues at all. So far I like it better than the Kawasaki. It just has more power. Going up hills and getting up to speed much quicker. If there is anything I feel it is a may make a little more noise, but it seems to be drive train noise and not engine noise.

So now Club Car is doing different motors now? After EZGO changed to the Kawasaki and now hearing Club Car is doing similar I sure don't look forward to seeing these come in a few years from now (newest we have worked on in gas is 2004 DS and 2009 Precedents).

Please tell me they make it easy to get at the oil filter and has access from under the car?

The oil change couldn't be easier. There is no oil filter on the Subaru and the drain plug is very easy to get to. Less than 10 minutes start to finish.

So it's more closer to the old Robin Twins on the 2007- EZGO? I'm all in for anyone who chooses them!

I dont know anything about the Robin/Subaru except it runs a heck of a lot better than the Kawasaki on the 15 Precedent.

The Robin/Subaru ran so much better/smoother/quieter also on the TXT before they decided for no real good reason to change over to a huge Kawasaki 'Thumper' which is rough, loud, and hard for mechanics to service.
