Default 2001 gas club car

just bought a 2001 gas club car, cart starts hard, and smokes, I changed oil ,filter and plug, car stil starts hard, you have to feather the acc pedal, drove it around, and if you wot and let off it will back fire....... any advise it does seem to accel. fine until you hit the governor. thanks jsm

oil was very dirty, any luck with marvel mystery oil to remove carbon from oil ring

There is no magic oil. When they smoke...99% of the time they are worn out. IMHO

if it still smokes with marvel mistory oil, you need some rings, time for a rebuild kit,

found another problem, the gas tank is not venting, cart will start to run rough, as soon as i loosen the gas cap it smooths out, I blew through the line that goes from the tank to the carb. all clear, if i disconnect that line it runs fine, do I need a new gas cap? or does it vent throught the line to the carb.......... thanks for the help, I think i got hosed on this one.......

There's a separate vent line that runs down the side of the gas tank that is prone to plugging because it is open with no filter.

You gotta love it! There are 4 bolts holding the dash on and there is a thread about every one of them
