Default 2017 Club Car Gas High Speed Gear install with PICS!!

Hey guys, just finished installing my high speed gears. They only make one option for this rear end. I believe they are 9.5:1 or something like that.. was a pretty straight forward install. I’ll explain the pics in order:
1. Rear end removed
2. Comparison of gears.. stock one has the bearing on it still.
3. Rear end cases split and factory still installed.
4. Rear end cases split with high speed gears installed
5. Driver side of rear end, pretty much everything stays on the passenger side of the axle.

High speed gears include the largest gear in the pics and the one small gear that it touches. Now, the most important part the MPH. This is a 2017 Gas with the Subaru efi engine. It is your typical limo, (stock height) two rows forward and one rear facing seat. With the rear govoner bypassed the cart hits the electronic rpm limiter at 35mph. However, can cruise all day at 30-32mph. At around 25mph the engine is so quiet and much more pleasant to cruise around with than before. Hope this info helps. I could not find any info on this install so I wanted to share..

The tires are a tad taller than factory, they are 215/40-12.

It still has the factory electronic rpm limiter. (3600rpm) So when it bumps the limiter the gps says 35-36mph. It will cruise all day at 32mph. Speed limit in the neighborhood is 30mph.. so it’s nice..

Great post. I just ordered a onward yesterday and the dealer is going to install the high speed gears for me. He said I should be able to get 30 to 35 mph easily.

Did you lose much low end installing the high speed gears? Is there anything we could do to make the cart faster off the start? New clutch spring?

Yea, you loose a tad bit of low end TQ but it’s well worth it to cruise at 25mph at a comfortable rpm. Unfortunately there are not many upgrades to help take off. The rear clutch is already machined from the factory to aid in take off. Adding a tq spring would help in acceleration but you would loose a few mph up top.

Okay thanks. I agree with you on gain vs lost for sure. I'm pushing my cart to get 30 out of it. 4k rpm. High speed gears is the way to go.
