Re: gas club car won't hold charge
Is it charging when you ride it? Get some test leads with clips and look at the battery voltage on your multi meter as you take a ride.

Re: gas club car won't hold charge
I believe that a meter should read 14 volts when the moter is running. When you shut it off it should go back to 12. I just replaced my battery I got a bad one. This one works fine. Same thing??

Re: gas club car won't hold charge
Is it that it go's dead when driving or will not crank when starting? IF it's not charging you need to check charging system wiring, stator output, rectifier diodes. If it's charging ok but battery is dead when going to start check for a draw.
make sure every thing is turned off on the cart then disconnect the neg battery.cable put one end of your test light to the neg. battery.terminal and the other to the neg.cable you just took off. If the test light - lights then you have a draw. to trace it just start disconnecting feeds to the different loads on the system light switch, ign.switch,go to the fuse box and pull one fuse at a time, when the test light go's out that tells you the draw is on that circuit. Start looking for corroded wiring, connectors, switch's ...... |

Re: gas club car won't hold charge
I was troubleshooting a similiar problem on a buddy's car a few days ago. You can pull one of the battery terminals off at night and barely touch it to the battery post to see if it sparks. It can be difficult to see the small spark in the daylight. If everything is shut off and there is a spark, you definitely have a current draw on the battery from something.
