2003 DS won't go.
My 2003 DS engine turns but will not start. It gets spark, has new fuel and fuel filters, new air filter, new battery and new spark plug. The fuel pump is clean and looks like it is in good shape. After all that it still just turns when you press the gas and never engages in gear. HELP!! Its summer!

Re: 2003 DS won't go.
sounds like no fuel, pull off air inlet tube to carb. while cranking spray a little carb.cleaner into carb. venturi if it starts you've confirmed no fuel problem.
make sure when Eng. is cranking you are getting fuel to carb.If you are then problem is in carb.plugged jets/stuck needle and seat ....... |

Re: 2003 DS won't go.
I took off the air supply and sprayed some WD40 into the carb while trying to start, nothing happened. Any other ideas?

I don't know never tried wd40, seems like it would just foul the plug with the week ignition systems on these carts.

Re: 2003 DS won't go.
pull the plug see if it's fouled if it is just so you know the only correct way to clean a fuel or oil fouled plug is to sand-blast it. Mac,Snap-on,Matco sell hand held one's.
If plug looks OK try adding a little gas directly into cylinder[just a thimble full] install plug, try again. |

Re: 2003 DS won't go.
I was always told that WD40 is good for the carbs and actually gives it a boost when trying to start, maybe im wrong. Anyway, how do I add gas to the cylinder? Is that where the spark plug goes?

Re: 2003 DS won't go.
Maybe your right with the wd40 never tried it. for me I want a fuel that's a little more volital than penetrating oil . To add a little fuel to cyl. I just take a McDonald's straw
dip it into gas, hold finger over end insert into spark plug hole, put plug back in give it a try. remember just a little fuel. don't want to hydro-lock Eng. p.s. a piece of that clear tubing they use for fish tanks works well in place of the straw. |

Re: 2003 DS won't go.
Welcome to the forum. I usually use carb. cleaner. The plugs on these carts do foul very easily.
