2015 Gas Precedent. Turns over. Weak or no spark
Hello all.
I've used support from this site for years. Now I actually have an issue I cannot find anywhere. Gas precedent Turns over nice and strong. Fresh battery, solenoid, pedal, plug. I've got a plug tester that shows minimal spark, but without it I cannot visually tell the plug is sparking while ground to frame/motor. Motor turns over with little effort. Oil light constantly flashes 5 times and then 1, over and over....... All help appreciated |

Don't know what the code means, but its my understanding the Oil light is used as a fault indicator for the EFI system.
A few things I would check: There are a handful of ground points that could cause issues if they get corrosion in them. Make sure you have a good clean connection at the negative battery terminal. There are two ground wires that run from the engine to the battery harness on the passenger side. Those both have spade terminal connectors in the middle. Make sure the terminals are clean in those. Also on passenger side is a loose harness with 6 wires that ends with a black plastic cap. There are three fuses under the cap, make sure they are all good and have clean terminals. On the drivers side at the front is the control module for the EFI. The module has a ground point on the housing. Disconnect the battery first, then remove and clean the ground point on the module. Also disconnect both plugs on the bottom of the module and check in there for any dirt or corrosion or signs of water entry. |

Check. Check. Check. Grounds cleaned mounting spots cleaned. All fuses verified good.. ecu clean and dry. Swapped ecu for verification.

Re: 2015 Gas Precedent. Turns over. Weak or no spark
Only other thing I can think of would be to swap the ignition coil. I don't think that would have anything to do with the oil light blinking, but I could be wrong.
There are two sensors on it that I can find. One is the temperature sensor which is attached kind of at the upper rear corner on the passenger side of the block. The other is the oil level sensor. The Control unit should be monitoring those so would likely cause a code if either failed. Maybe it would for low oil level as well? Not sure, but it makes me wonder because I have a 14 with the Subaru motor and there's a lot of differences between this and the old FE carbed motors. Might try getting in touch with David Hicks at Revolution Golf Cars, and see if he has some ideas. |

appreciate it I just clocked out for the day I will double-check a couple things in the morning and then I'm going to send it off back to the local golf cart place here for warranty. I've got a hundred and seventy-four other carts to maintain thank you for your expertise.

I tested the coil just before I left work and I believe the book said it was supposed to test between 9 and 11 kohms it tested at 136.9

137 Ohms or 137 K-ohms? Either way, seems like that's the problem.
If its still under warranty let them fix it! Let us know what it turns out to be. |
