Super Frustrated
Recently purchased a 2008 CC Turf Carryall 252. Had high hopes for this thing but after doing the research, feeling frustrated. Wanted to put on some larger wheels/tires and do an engine swap as well as a full cosmetic make-over.
1) Front Lift - this thing has front drum brakes. Can't find an a-arm lift kit that will work. I currently have about 7" of clearance between the 215/60-8 tires and fenders. How much clearance is needed for bigger tires? 2) Rear Lift - Rear end sags a bit, prolly due to heavy loads. Not much clearance. No one seems to sell leaf springs, extended shackles or lift blocks for this particular cart. Thought about flipping the springs over but I don't think that will work. 3) Engine Upgrade - this clockwise vs counter-clockwise issue has jacked up my plans to change out the power plant. Should I just rebuild the existing Kawasaki motor? 11hp isn't getting me excited. Should I just sell this and get something else that's easier to work on? Help. |

You're welcome!
Let us know what you end up finding out. In the future I might consider getting the same cart or similar, depending on what you find out. |

Re: Super Frustrated
springs are the same on the carryall as the DS. Heavy duty DS springs fit it no problem.
How much does it sag? That cart looks to have the Z-frame front lift, And the rear axle should be mounted under the springs. They should be Club cars heavy duty multi-leaf spring pack, but they can be worn out if they were badly overloaded at some point. The Z frame lift you pretty much can’t do any other type of lift with. It can be done but you need to remove the Z blocks and bolt in straight blocks to replace the front frame section back to standard placement. It should have 20” tires on it already. Pretty sure you can fit 22s on those, but you need to add extra blocks to the steering stops to keep the steering arms from turning all the way so the tires don’t hit the frame. |

Re: Super Frustrated
Jake's has an option on their long travel kit for the carts with front brakes.
You can combine a z-lift with some of the other lift kits but probably not the long travel kit without a lot of modifications. |

Re: Super Frustrated
As you were informed in your other thread, your cart came from the factory with larger tires than it is wearing now. You don't need additional lift to wear up to 22" diameter tires with the 12" rims you seem to desire. On the rear you might consider air shocks, or new springs. Again, it is designed by the factory to accept the larger tires.

Re: Super Frustrated
The carryall has enough room in the engine bay to install a typical engine and utilize a jackshaft with pillow blocks to transfer power to the other side.
