Club Car Carryall Rear Suspension
My 2008 Carryall sits low in the rear, likely due to tired old springs. I've ordered some new 3 leaf replacements. My question: for additional height, is it possible to move the axle below the springs? Right now, the springs run below the axle.
If so, will I need anything other than shock extenders? Thank you. |

Re: Club Car Carryall Rear Suspension
Yeah, it's possible. Most, if not all lift kits do this. However, they usually have lift blocks that go between the axle and leaf springs. This gives you a flat place for the springs to sit on, as well as a "centering" pin. They usually have a plate that goes on top of the leaf spring, which gives you holes to mount the u-bolts, as well as your shocks.
The only other thing to consider, that I can think of at the moment, is your brake cables. I think you would be fine with their current length of them, for no more than the lift you would get. But something to be aware of. You may have to either extend them, use different mounting places to hold them up or just let them hang down. |

Re: Club Car Carryall Rear Suspension
The HD springs will probably give you a 1-1.5" lift in the back depending on how worn the old springs were.
And yes, you can put the springs on top of the axle, you'll just need to make or buy a perch to sit them on with a bolt head located in the center so that the springs stay centered. If it were me, I'd give Dave Hicks with revolution going cars a call and ask about purchasing a rear All Sports lift. That will give you everything you need plus the 2 U- bolt design that wraps around the springs and axle to help stop the axle from twisting. https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/#!store/c10q1 706-431-3917 |
