AG = DS Gas (model)
89 = 1989
17 = week of manufacture
The remaining 6 numbers are the serial number

Is there a website like ezgo has where you can punch in your vin / serial number and it will tell you all of this?

There may be websites that have breakdowns of the serial number, but I usually use the BGW sticky:

A few years ago, I added a pdf to download that has most of the Club Car models (and then some) up to about 2014.
One of these days, I'll have to ask (a friend) to see if I can get an updated pdf.

From 1985 to 1991 there was only one gas engine in Club Cars, and that's the Kawasaki 8hp KF82 Flathead,
in 1992, Club Car switched to the Kawasaki 9hp FE290 OHV engine.
