Change headlilght bulb?
Dumb question: How do you change a lightbult?
86 DS gas, looks like factory headlights. The underside is undercoated or something, all kinds of hard black goo on back of headlights. Does something twist? Nothing in the service manual and I could only fine LED questions while searching for headlight bulb. Thanks for the help |

Re: Change headlilght bulb?
Those old ones probably use H3 bulbs and have a small screw that keeps the bulb in the reflector. But I think the reflector has to be removed from the housing from the front. You probably will have to just start chipping away at the undercoat little by little until you find something!

Re: Change headlilght bulb?
Thanks, I'll start chipping. Just didn't want to break it if I didn't have to. I have spare H3 bulbs from an old set of driving lights.

Re: Change headlilght bulb?
from other car forums i read many people try heat gun and scraper/ wire brush, some undercoatings come off pretty easy using kerosene, could also try oven cleaner or brake fluid, paint stripper. just watch what you get it on.
