Default pulling gas tank

I did a search and didn't come up with a whole lot, but I was reading some threads that said I need to pull the body on my club car to remove the gas tank? When I got it it had some junk in the tank, and it has plugged up my carb once. I thought I would get ahead of it and just clean the tank out. I have no plans of pulling my entire back seat and roof to clean this tank out, might just be new filters and fuel lines for me. (or i will do it begrudgingly to avoid cart failure but i wont be happy about it )

I've still got my body off so I can get pictures if youd like, but with the way the tank tucks into the side there I think you would have a hard time removing it without removing the body. Getting the rear mounting strap off would be a hassle but once the straps are off youd probably really be fighting it to get it out. Not saying it would be impossible but it definitely wouldnt be fun...

My last two carts were marathons and they were a tight fit, but would squeeze out of the frame. I'm thinking it may have to wait until I decide to paint the body or something

Hmm... I pulled the tank out of my marathon the other day no problem. I did cut the strap with a pair of snips because I didnt feel like messing with the bolt lol. And I have no intentions of ever putting it back into the cart again...

I'll take some pics later this morning and let you decide. It's still temporarily sitting there; I still have to take it back out again and clean the frame up. But it will give you an idea of how it sits and how far back it goes and you can decide for yourself.

On a DS I'm pretty sure can't get the tank out without removing the body. There's just not enough room.
Really no reason to pull the tank unless there's some huge layer of scum or varnish in it.
If you're getting dirt into the carb you need new filters and new fuel lines. With two filters in-line there is no reason anything from the tank should ever make it to the carb. If you're getting enough dirt in the carb to cause problems it's coming from degrading fuel lines or old degrading filters.

After looking at it again, I'm gonna say it's not going to happen unless you pull the body. The tank sits a good 3+ inches into the recessed tray behind the frame rail. And goes a good ways back behind where the seat opening ends in the body. There's not enough room between the tank and the body to lift it out of the tray, much less finagle it around the frame rail in the back.

It has only happened once. And there is not a major layer of junk at the bottom or anything, just a few pieces of debris floating around. I too would have though the acorn filters would keep that stuff out and planned on replacing them as well as the fuel line - i just figured if I could flush the tank while I was at it, I would. I hadn't had this club car tore apart at all so I wasn't sure how the tank comes out. Makes the marathons look easy

Those pictures helped alot, looks like I'm probably not gonna mess with it until I swap bodys or paint mine. But at least I know what I'm dealing with now. Gonna be new fuel line and filters for now

Never had to pull a gas tank except for the one which i accidentally drilled a hole into, yep bad day for sure. Tanks can be cleaned out while in the buggy, and like the guys said 2 filters and new lines will be your best spent dollars

thought about it but it will never get all of the little pieces floating around.... thats why i wanted to be able to dump some gas, shake it, and dump it out until its clean. fuel filters are 10 for $5 on ebay looks like thats what I'm doing

local hardware has filters for $9
