Default 2011 FE290 no compression

I need help. Pulled this cart in my shop last night, and changed the light kit to a deluxe light kit. Ran fine pulling in the shop. After the light install it wouldn't crank for anything. Getting spark and getting fuel to the carb, but little to no compression. What could have have caused this. I'm not much into the gasser other than changing oil and few carburetors now then. The guy brought me a running cart to put lights on, and now it don't run. Help!

Take the valve cover off and see if a valve is stuck open from a pushrod or valve coming unseated. Valves need adjusted periodically but nobody ever does

I've removed the valve cover. How can I tell for sure if it's stuck open? The push rods and springs are moving like the should. Hard to see the valves.

Also can someone tell how to adjust the valves? I'm new at the gas stuff.

Did you do a compression test?

Did you move anything or disassemble anything while installing the lights?

I don't have anything to do a compression check with. No I didn't touch anything on the motor. There is some compression at the spark plug hole, but no suction effect at carburetor.

Pull the valve.cover off and turn the motor over by hand using the clutch. Watch to see if the valves move up and down. I'd bet they were way out of adjustment and a pushrod fell out. Just bad coincidence on your part

It all looks pretty good as far as I know. Both valves are moving up and down. I don't know if they are adjusted properly or not.

I don't think you have a mechanical compression issue.
Check the oil for fuel. Make sure it's not flooded. If the float stuck open in the carb it washed the rings down and can cause low compression due to the lack of oil on the rings.

Dry the spark plug, squirt some oil in the plug hole on top of the piston. Crank it in maintenance mode and use your hand on the governor cable to pull the throttle plate open and close it a few times . It should clear the cylinder of fuel and fire and run after you let the throttle close.

Thanks. I will give that a try. It did appear to have been flooded in the beginning, but after that I couldn't get any suction at the carburetor.
