2009 club car diode
I have a 2009 club car gas cart, serial PR09xxx.
Been reading the threads on the gcor and diode that is in the orange wire as part of the wiring harness and still need help. 1. i think my diode is bad, can i just splice the wire and not have it in the wire, what would happen?? 2. if i must have the diode where do i get this from and what kind of diode should i use?, club car dealer says must replace wire harness. 3. if my diode is bad does this damage gcor also? meaning bad diode and gcor? 4. If i use a known good gcor to troubleshoot the diode or gcor do i stand the risk of damaging the gcor? Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question. |

Re: 2009 club car diode
I dont have any idea what a pro9xxx is? Have you tested the diode itself to confirm the diode has actually failed?
But a diode is a diode. Nothing magical, it just allows current to pass one direction but not the other. Do you know where the diode is in the harness? If so can you pull it out of the holder and post a picture? If so I'm sure I can find a replacement diode without replacing the harness. A pack of diodes shouldnt be more than a couple bucks. I've found diodes in honda 4wheelers that were "harness replacement only" deals for under a buck a piece. However, its rare for diodes to just fail. Usually if a diode fails it is from external issues that would just cause the replacement to fail as well. |
