Default Dang it. Still no spart at the spart plug

I am still working on the 1991 gas club car. I replaced the pickup coil with a brand new one. that set me back a few bucks. Problem is I still have no spark. so now I guess I am looking at a problem with the little black box (Igniter or RPM controller) or something like that. So I am wondering if anyone has a used one you would like to part with for a decent price. I saw an ole boy on ebay that had the whole engine he was wanting to part out but I lost his contact info. Anyway please check out your parts pile and see if you have one of this little black boxes available. It is a little black box with two groups of wires one of which has a two connection plug and the other has a three connection plub. or does anyone have anyother ideas of what else my problem could be?

thanks in advance

Not sure about the '91? Later models had the ignitor under the black box rev limiter...looks like '92 was the change year.
Had a shorted wire on the ignitor once?
Looks like 1984-91 all the same ignition components... so stick with those years. Good luck

I have an 1987 cc and the system is basically the same as the 1991 except that my 1987 for some reason has that little box and the coil as a one piece thing and the 1991 has separate items. the black box (igniter) is separate from the coil. I could have purchased the 2 in 1 but would have cost me quite a few bucks new. so I figured I would buy the coil and hope that would take care of the problem......huh!. my dang luck it didnt. so now its the igniter black box thing. hopefully that will take care of the problem. but i need to find one first unless I can find a used 2 in 1 igniter/coil that would be great too.

97 was a change year also .....I think the '97 has a seperate ignitor mounted on the back side of the rev limiter.

PM me an email address if you want the ignition trouble shooting procedure from my KAWASAki manual...I would need to know which system you are using? Seperate ignitor or with coil?

heheheheh. 1997, that is too new for me...I am still learning and trying to figure out my 1987 and my 1991. I am just a computer guy that sits behind a desk all day. Not used to getting bumps and bruises and dirt under the finger nails if ya know what I mean. But I do have a tool set and I have been know to change a flat tire once or twice so I should be able to figure out how to work on these golf cars I purchased a couple of weeks ago. problem is trying to find good working parts at a decent price.

I really do appreciate your help.. anychance you would be driving by Mission Texas, I would be happy to buy ya a DR. Pepper or a Coke.
