Club car Ds wheel spacers
1999 club car DS with low profile tires. My cart is actually my white cart I use for my avatar. My question is has anyone used the 1, 1.5 or 2 inch wheel spacers? I would like to move my back tires out 1.5 inches. Here’s another question. The front tires on a Ds are about 2 1/4 further in then the back tires. So my question is if you move the backs out 1.5 inches should you move the fronts out 3 inches? They would still not be the same but a little closer. Or should you just do 1.5 spacers on all four tires? Or maybe 1.5 in the back and 2 inches in the front. Any thoughts?
Or is there a reason the front tires are further in then the back? Thanks everyone |

Re: Club car Ds wheel spacers
The wider stance in the rear is for roll over stability, the narrower stance in the front is for a tighter turning radius.
I've done exactly what your thinking when I still had my stock suspension, I put 2" spacers on the front to even out the stance so it "looked" better! However, I found a problem with it... On a tight left turn, the drivers side tire rubbed/locked up on the intake duct mounted in the wheel well of the drivers side floor board. I swapped the spacers to 1" on front and no spacers on the back to avoid the rubbing, I later installed a Jake's 3" spindle lift which moved the tires forward, and widened the stance, I kept the 1" on the front, and put the 2" on the rear and it came pretty close to even without the rubbing. I'm sure that you don't want a lift with low pro's, so just 1" spacers on the front should help with the visual aesthetics, and no rubbing. if you still want a wider stance in the rear, you can space them out as much as you want with minimal issues. 030 (3).JPG |

Re: Club car Ds wheel spacers
I use 1.5" on the rear and 2.0" on the front of my '90 CC and they work great.

Re: Club car Ds wheel spacers
I have an 01 with a lift and wider tires. The rears were rubbing a bit on the inner well so I ordered a set of 1" spacers all around. Stance is good, no more rubbing and steers same as it ever did.

Re: Club car Ds wheel spacers
Update
I installed 1.5 spacers in the rear and the front. The front did rub. I purchased the club car kit for Buggies Unlimited that moves the front end forward 2”. The front still rubbed barley. I then installed a front end heavy duty front spring. The spring is not only stiffer but is raises the front end up 1 1/4 inches. No more rubbing. I’m going to try 2” spacers in the front next. |
