Default No start problem

My 92 club car ran great exept for an intermittent no crank issue so I had the starter/gen rebuilt and now the engine turns over but will not crank .
I have fuel and spark but it only 30 lbs of compression . Is there any kind of decompressor on these engines that would cause this .
Any help would be appreciated

welcome, i did not see your post in the introduction forum?

with 30psi of compression your engine won't start, most likely your piston rings are bad

I guess they could have collapsed, but it ran great with no smoke or anything and then I had the starter rebuilt and now it will not start .

Thanks

Our '94 Carryall-II with the Kawasaki engine does have compression relief. And and at cranking speeds shows 30-50 lbs. We rebuilt our engine several years ago thinking we had a ring problem. What it does is hold the exhaust valve open longer, resulting in lower compression and easier cranking. If I remember correctly, we compared it to our '91 with the Club Car engine that had 120 lbs. at crank speed. So it depends on which engine you have.

92 has no compression releif that i know of...........if you only have 30 lbs its never gonna run but i would try another gage cause rebuilding the starter shouldn,t effect compression so do another compression test and for some reason if it truely only has 30 lbs than its time for a minimum of piston and rings................................
