99 club car starts and stalls...help

I got a 99 gas club car. I starts normal and will get up to rpm ok but after a few seconds it almost stalls then takes right back off again. I pick this up cheap and am new the the whole golf cart thing.....it is driving me crazy. Any help would be great. I have changed the plug,air and fuel filters. Changed the oil and belts.

sounds like your hitting the rev limiter. check throtle linkage, or governer may have been messed with. check that to.

where is the rev limiter located at?

Does it do this repeatedly or just once at take off? How about when at 1/2 throttle?
Check fuel system for trash/water, From tank to carb.
Most likely trash/water in float bowl has made its way to the high speed jet in carb.

Did you get your cart fixed and what did you find my cart is doing the same thing and cant see why. Thanks

Alot come in with problems get help and ya never find out if all of your efforts were any help.
Hopefully he will reply back soon and be able to let us know.

just on take off. Havent done it yet this weekend, its up ot our camp ground. I will let you know to hopefully help otheres. Some one said it may be the cdi?

CDI doubtful because they usually need to run a while and get hot before it starts breaking down or just fail and never fire again.
I know what it's like to troubleshoot lake carts. PITA!
I'm still leaning towards fuel (carb), hope it works out and keep us posted........

I tore down and cleaned the carb and check the air box. Still does the samething. Not sure what to do now. Next weekend i am replaceing all the gas lines and filters and re clean the carb. Any thing else to try???

i Ordered a new coil for a 97 up. I tore the old one out this morning what a pain! You cant get all the bolts out of the cover so i just pulled it back. I should have the new one saturday and hope to put it in. I got a piece of shim stock 11 thousands. I will try to post on what i come up with.
