CC Carryall is about as comfortable as a concrete block
I sold the 96 EZGO (Exploder) and went down south with the intention of just picking up this Carryall .......... on the trip got the cherry 86 EZGO I couldn't pass up ....... different thread .
I'd like to hear from you that have one of these .... or have gotten rid of one of these ........ Question: Is one of the characteristics of these Carryalls to ride like you're sitting on a freakin' concrete block? I realize there are like 3 more springs on each side, and I was thinking it's something like a 1-ton truck, unless you get a load onto the bed, there is no give in the suspension ..... Am I correct? ....... She runs pretty good thanks to Tom@CCP...... 12mph unmolested WhooHoooo ......... so far ..... Seat-backs and a bed is next for this one. Then to let my 79 yr old Dad decide if he wants this one, or the lifted and repowered Hyundai I'm working on When I picked i her up ...... Got her home .... gave her a bath, some new shoes, and a name .... Farrah |

Cart looks like a early nineties.... I had one (1991)and it was the worse ride ever....I also had a 2001,2000,1999 all of them rode fine ..... so go figure

Take the clamps off of the ends of the rear leaf springs. That will soften the rear some.

Replace the leaf spring mount bushings if worn? That will stop the banging

Thanks for the ideas ........ I was almost to the point of taking leafs off till I got a ride that was more acceptable, well comfortable. I mean it's rough, but I'd ride it anyway.

Going back into the serial-search guide thing. This cart is a '92 and was turned out in the last week of October ..... 43rd week FG9243 ......... correct?
I'm having some issues with the F/R microswitches ...... no power is getting to the small posts at the solenoid. Does start when you jump across both big posts. |

Boris, if you put some softer compound tires on it like 489s or something like those it'll ride 100% better. well maybe not 100% but it's a huge improvement, downside is they reduce you load carrying capacity.

Re: CC Carryall is about as comfortable as a concrete block
Thanks for the input Ruredy ............... I was wondering about that and what size tires I could force under the fenders without lifting it .........
First though, I think I'm going to try and iron out all of the mechanical cah-cah before sinking any $$ into a lift and a set of wheel spacers. I have another set of those 22x10's so tires at this point isn't a problem. |

Re: CC Carryall is about as comfortable as a concrete block
Update: After driving a CC with a 6" lift and hating how hard it was to turn I cut the frame ...... Yep, a Z-lift 5 3/4 up and 4" out. The steering is night and day from this and the other aftermarket set-up. Two inch spacers and some of those wheels and tires I had leftover ............ and this is the end result ..... minus the body work and the bed and the seat-backs. More pics later
Farrah, Before and After: Since these pics it's I built the seat-backs and was working on the rear bed. Now it's in the works for Farrah to go to another home ..... Yeah, I sold her. |

Re: CC Carryall is about as comfortable as a concrete block
i have a carryall too, and it rode like a truck!!! it has a payload of 750# so i guess it should ride hard! after looking at my other cc with only one leaf spring front and rear, i did the same to the carryall WHAT A BIG DIFFRENCE, BUT I DONT HAVE ANY PLANS OF NEEDING THE 750# PAYLOAD, now mine rides like a regular cc!!!! george.
