Re: backfire?

sounds like the carb butterfly is not closing completeyl, adjust it back until it closes all the way with no throttle.......

Re: backfire?

Flint is right, When you let off of the pedal like trying to go slow down a hill, it kills spark to the plug but you notice the motor is still turning.
If the carb throttle plate (butterfly) is adjusted open even a little the turning engine will draw fuel into the cylinder with no spark. As you press the pedal to go again you add spark to all of that fuel you get the backfire.
Could split old mufflers.
Just thought I would add why it does it.

Re: backfire?

thanks yeah i noticed i had a backfire again maybe it was cause im getting on and off the gas alot but yeah other then that it runs good

would high speed gears make the cart run better meaning not reving out and sound like the motor cant handle already?
