Default gas club car carb. problem

The throttle plate/butterfly valve in carb fell off and cart only drives wide open when it starts. Is this a comon problem? Where did the valve go? there is no engine noise, just not sure where it went.

I would be hard pressed to believe that the brass throttle plate got passed the intake valve and seat, went through the combustion chamber and out past the exhaust valve and seat into the exhaust system and never miss a beat.
It should be stuck between the carb and intake port or it is in the air cleaner assy.

Pull the head as well.
Any signs of the screw as well.............?
