Default my stock Husqvarna(Club Car) has trouble climbing hills

My cart used to climb hills ok. Now It knocks and struggles. I seem to have decent speed on flat land. Any suggestions? How tight should my drive belt be?

Need to do a compression test and see what it is.
If you have good compression you should order a torque spring kit and new belt. Best bang for money you can spend.

Need to pick up from maybe Sears a decent compression gauge kit. If you are a one time user try to find a friend that has a good one you could borrow or they could come do it.
I wouldn't suggest renting one because you can't trust it to be accurate.
Need to put the cart in maintenance mode and neutral.
Remove the spark plug, screw the comp tester into the plug hole, press the gas pedal to the floor and listen, count off 4 compression strokes and take a reading. That's it.

Well i just heard from the Cart shop this week. They saw that I have a blown head and it's causing the motor to suck the air intake closed. I'm told I need a new motor. Does this sound right? I was told it would be $1200 for a rebuilt motor, parts only. Is this a good deal? How frustrating. I guess I will think twice next time before buying a used cart.

They said the compression is as spec, but it still doesn't work right. They called a motor specialist, he said the head must be blown and causing it to collapse my intake hose? i personally have seen the hose collapse when pushing the gas. I agree it's weird.

sounds fishy to me. if you have good compression, then how can it suck your intake valve open, and the intake tube to colapse? if its a cracked head, i would replace the head and the head gasket. why would the lowwrr end be needed replaced if you had good compression. and how would you get good compression if the intake is being sucked open and the head cracked? any kind of leaks seen? if you had a cracked head i am pretty sure you would see a exhaulst leak, at the crack, let alone be losing compression out the ying yang. let alone it running at all. if the intake was being sucked, i am very surprised you dinnt bend a valve, andthen the engine start knocking from the piston smacking the valve. unless its a flat head engine.
then no valve damage would relly be done. guys correct me if im wrong please!

I was told it's a solid state engine? I really don't know about these engines. The whole reason i took it in was because it sounded like I had an exhaust leak after it ran or a while and i would loose power. They told me i needed a full service and to clean the carb. I paid them for that and the cart got worse. They told me to run it to clean it out. After 3 tanks I took it back and 2weeks later they told me the engine was bad.
