Default If I add a lift kit and tires and cutch spring, will I loose..

Top end speed ?? I know you guys have said IF I add a lift kit and bigger tires I will loose some torque pulling hills, If I add the clutch spring will this cover the loss ??

I have 18 x 8.5 x 8 tires now, I would just like a more agressive tread and a little better torque without a new motor .

Let me spell it out!

Larger tires will give you a higher top end speed
and YES... you will lose "a little" torque pulling hills!
and YES, the torque spring should cover it!

My advice... find some tires with more "agressive" tread, and try it and see what you think,
If your not happy... THEN, get a driven clutch spring!

Don't worry about getting a new engine, the FE290 can be pretty strong, (for a golf car anyway!)
Do a little at a time, as the cash flow permits, and you'll eventually get it the way you want it!

(I know I'm not done yet!)

Lock, good plan. I would be happy IF I could find the same size tires I now have but more agressive. Then I may do the spring also

Thanks

There's a guy at my campground that has 18 x 8 agressive, flat tread on his cart,
that thing climbs like "nobody's business"
I'm not sure what they're off of... front riding lawnmower tires?

It's just an idea, that way you can save for a lift, larger tires and a spring!

A little at a time... you'll get the "fever"!

I just called him... he said they were "Turf tires" (not standard cart turf tires) but, possibly on a 10" rim... w/o a lift
and possibly ordered from "another" parts supplier,

All I know is, they're a wider, flat tread tire, with knobby's, and can out climb me, and, are even better in sand!

Hope this helps partially answer your question, and keep the $$$ in your pocket!

Probably turf tamers. We used to run them on quads. Good tire.

Thanks guys, I dont see 18 x 8.5 x 8 though I do see 18 x 9.5

Does this mean they are wider or taller ?? I tried some bigger tires before but they hit the inside plastic pc because they were too wide, cant remember the size. I do like the looks of those

They should fit my rims though right ??

They'll fit your rims, and yes they are 1" wider, but it shouldn't pose a problem!

well the ones I have now only miss the inside rear plastic housing by 1/4 "

So if these are 1" wider I assume 1/2" per side right ?? Will I need to cut that plastic housing out ??
