Unhappy 99 Carryall 2 Plus- Drive/Driven clutch issue?

I recently bought a well worn CC Carryall 2 Plus (haven't quite figured out what the plus was supposed to be yet) that was in extremely rough shape. After digging through a pile of "spare parts" that came with it as well as buying a couple hundred bucks worth of missing parts (not complaining since the price was right), I finally got it running this past weekend. The problem is that the whole cart jumps like you kicked it when it finally starts to move instead of an easy engagement. Not really a problem for me, but the spousal unit has had neck surgery and won't ride or drive it until it stops acting up and has learned some manners.

Now for the question part....
-Is this a drive clutch or driven clutch issue?
-How would I know the difference?
-How do you get drive clutch off of the engine shaft? (please tell me I don't have to drop the motor back out of this thing to get it off)

You need a special CC clutch puller to remove the drive clutch.....

Before you pull the drive clutch, remove the belt and see if you can slide it in and out freely. grease it 1 or 2 shots if it has a fitting.
You can also remove the dust cover and inspect the weights and slide areas for wear or damage.
If everything looks good move to the driven, give it 1 or 2 shots of grease and then try it again.
If it has been sitting it just might need to cycle in and out a few times before it will act right.

Sorry for the delay in reply... Out of town for a bit. Thanks For the advice.

I took the drive clutch apart and the innards were pretty well thrashed - doesn't appear to have ever seen grease.

The "special puller" turned out to be a 7/16"-20 grade 8 bolt with a 5 1/4" long 3/8" diameter metal rod (so it wouldn't distort or flex I used the shaft of an old 6"X1/4" extension with ends cut off) to apply pressure. Insert the 3/8" rod down the shaft and bottom it into the engine shaft, apply torque to the 7/16" bolt and the inner clutch pops right off. The second puller needed was a standard 3-way bolt puller and the outer case pops apart too.

Crash , I see that you have over 2000 posts so you must know something!!

I have two Club car gas and neither the forward or aft cluthes have any place to add grease. The inside of the clutch should be dry...no grease.

There is a guy named Tom that sells rebuildt CC clutches for around $100. He also sells on eBay.

There are no grease fittings in/on Club Car clutches... THey are designed to work dry. There are replaceable wear items in them and the rebuild is effective if the wear items are replaced before surface damage occures.
