Default Speeding Up an '05

I have read many posts on here and still need assistance on the best way to speed up an FE290. I want to try the zip tie trick, and disconnect the limiter on the front of the engine. I have looked but guess I am not looking correctly at the engine.. Does anyone have any pictures of where to disconnect the wire from the limiter?

I have also sent my clutches to TOM and had them machined and new spring on the driven clutch. Not sure if they installed a new spring on the drive clutch.

on eier side of the limiter is a ground wire that has a lug on it. remove the nut with a 10mm socket and pull off lug. replace nut with socket and tape end and zip tie so not to rub any bare metal or get got up. thats what i was told to do with my 350, no problems yet!

i am kicking around the idea of sending my clutches to Tom also. Any comments on what you gained? before and after speed increase and torque? currently cruzin' at 12mph here... woo hoo! LOL

I would be interested as well Puff. My cart is used 90% on the golf course so a big increase in speed is largely irrelevant. In an ideal world I would like to get around 15-18 reliable mph with a nice little bump in torque due to the hilly nature of the terrain out here.

Chris.

The cart seems to have some more torque to it when climbing ditches. I do not know if the 200 rpm spring was installed in the drive clutch. I just did the tie wire trick to speed up the cart and it is running around 3900 - 4000 rpm. Will use my gps to get the mph tomorrow.

After getting all things done, the cart will run between 23 - 28 mph. Put Royal Purple 10w-20 and that took care of the oil light coming on. But I am still not happy with it's climbing capabilities........................
