Re: 88cc change to chain drive
well, no belt slipping, but no tranny, so no top speed, or no low end... could work, sort of

Re: 88cc change to chain drive
There is plenty of info out there on folks that have put a motorcycle engine, i.e. chain drive, with a solid axle set-up in a golf cart. The cost is dependent on what you have available already, your fab skills (you'll need a lot) and how well you know a good machinist or have access to a machine/welding shop and equipment. Either way, the lack of reverse, noisy chain and constant maintenance have to be balanced with the YAHOOOOOOO of going 75mph+!!!
and then with the VERY REAL possibility of crashing your new creation.... http://server1.buggiesunlimited.com/...hp?f=9&t=31508 http://forum.ih8mud.com/motorcycles-...golf-cart.html |

Everybody but me I guess... Just couldn't see the logic behind that and made the leap to horsepower!

Re: 88cc change to chain drive
www.durablue.com makes/supplies about the toughest non-OEM solid axles and hubs out there for racing carts and quads... although they are a bit pricey. www.northerntool.com has the other end of the scale and there are plenty of folks in the middle. Take and share lots of pictures whichever way you decide to go!
