sticky throttle and engine kill problems
1996 club car ds
rebuilt motor, replaces all gaskets and cleaned up the engine and carb but when everything was hooked back up the trottle stuck and could not kill the engine by turning off key, relesing throttle pedal, standing on the brake or anything. u had to mess with the throttle cable connector on top of the transaxle. any help please!!!!!!!! also stock carb settings for a 1996 club car ds?? |

The throttle linkage needs to close enough to activate the two micro switches in the black plastic box under the seat on the drivers side.
Pushing the pedal will close the top micro and activate the start solenoid circuit while opening the bottom one which kills the ground going to the coil. Releasing the pedal will open the top or start micro which kills power to the solenoid at the same time closing the bottom or grounding micro to kill the spark. Carb low speed setting is 1 1/2 turns out. |

all jets and needles are tight with the exeption of the idle needle, turn in all the way and back of 1 1/2 turns. it will probly have a tamper proof screw on it. i had to "untamper" mine when i cleaned out my carb.

i only did what i thought was rght! after all who bulds a carb and epoxys a stupid aluimin cap on a brass screw so it cant be adjusted or pulled out tto be cleaned?
