Default Will this FE290 or FE350 work in my cart????

I have a 1990 & 1999 gas CCDS. I think it fits john deer stuff and it has a comet clutch, the comet clutch says duster on it. I might one day BB my cart but for now Im keeping my options open.

The second pic is an FE350 engine. Could this one work also? Would there be less modifications to be made to drop it into either cart? Is that shaft on the 350 the wrong shaft to fit my stock clutch? Any ifo you guys have will help. Thanks

Well I shouldve been more detailed, didnt want to spend a lot of money if this is a good choice for stock engine. If im gonna spend a lot of money I might as well BB it. Instead of BB it for now, what is the difference from my stock fe290 and the fe290 in the pic??

I like ezgo too, but I never find one for a good deal. CC seem to be a lot cheaper lately

Different carts a more prevalent in different areas that is why the price and availability varies.... Now If I understand right you have a cart which is a 90-99 or you have 2 carts a 90 and 99?
Club Car changed rotational direction of their engines and transaxles in MID1997. It is unfortunate for all of us because every other engine you will find out there is a CCW rotation while the 98 and up CC is CC ........ Hope this helps

Yes I have a 90 & 99 gas cart. I know the 90 can get the BB swap so I'm thinking that maybe one of these may work for the 99. Other than rotation difference, would there be any other issues I need to think about. Key start, fuel lines or wiring it up shoudnt be an issue. Its more of clutch or fab work I don't wanna do right now.

well it has a block starter and a stator on it, not a stater/genny on it. the fueltank can be pulled off and same with the muffler, if i rember right the j.deere had a straight shaft and cc uses a tapered shaft. the engine also has a governor on it, that will have to be pulled and plugged off. and the carb is in a diffenrt angle if i rember from the gators i worked with in the army. but thats about al i rember. as far as rotation, you will need to find that out. i just cant rember. hope this helps.

They both run counter clockwise they said. So I guess for pre 97 CC only. What does the output shaft look like on our CC DS carts? Are they the same for all gas year models or are they different as the motor changed per years?

I just bought the exact motor you have fe350 the problem im having is finding a clutch to fit straight shaft with key. the shaft is about 2 3/4 inches long. Problem is its not tappered to fit clubcar and the shaft is too long. Would be great if someone could give me a site or send me in the right direction to get a clutch. Clubcar told me to get with a Kawasaki Dealer for a clutch that fits a mule. I called them they needed to know what mule and year. Thanks for any input on this.
