Default Did the governor mod, and now bad stuff.

I did this>

***I am not saying that this mod is responsible, nor slandering this persons input. The machine may very well have been tampered with or I might have hit/tweeked something.***

Do you have a real need for speed?

If so, do not do any of the steps aforementioned EXCEPT removing the RPM limiter ground strap! Remove your access panel on the rear body. On the governor arm atop the transaxle, there is a clamping device that holds the arm tight to the shaft coming out of the transaxle. Loosen the 11mm nut on that about 3 turns. Spray a SMALL AMOUNT of WD-40 directly around the shaft and ensure the arm moves freely. Now you have successfully, completely bypassed your governor. Now, BUY A TACHOMETER!!!

Maybe something is wrong now but, any slight pressure on the pedal and it goes straight to the rev limiter. Under load, it pulls like crazy but there is little/ to no pedal movement required and it goes to the rev limiter and bounces off. It's extremely jerky with any throttle input and when you back off the pedal it acts like there's no throttle input at all (like you let off all the way), even when your just trying to slow the revs down. I never had to, nor did I just floor it to get this result, please help me out. I have some time off tomorrow and can work on it and don't want to hurt the motor. You can't even drive it likr this anyway. Thanks, CC guru's any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I think there are 2 things you didn`t do....#1 first and foremost..you didn`t get a tachometer...#2 you didn`t disable the rev limiter.

Yep, But if you disconnect the rev-limiter you need 2 things to replace it with ~ first is an ear to hear when it is over-reving and the second is mercy ...... give some of the second to it regularly

Well, I understand that I need to disable the rev-limiter, but there is nothing in between idle and WFO. Along with jumping with every attempt to reduce rpms. I could not load in in my truck if I had to!

Thanks for replying, I need help getting this squared away. I'm getting ready to head out to the garage to do the rev limiter.

Ok, with or without the Rev limiter it's still as undriveable, just without the rev limiter it's probably floating the valves.

Any throttle input at idle and the revs climb uncontrolably high, with the slightest pressure on the throttle. I wish I had messed with the governer, I'd want to get it straightend out or find a way to set it back up to stock configuration. The gov. shaft was rustyand hanging but I lubed and moved it around until the linkage moves freely on the shaft. HELP, please!!!

I would think you may have a broken cable somewhere or there is a retention problem. With the cart off step on the gas pedal and look at the carb at the same time. If the carb does not open slowly with the pedal I would check all the cables and linkages. It seems as if your spring is broken or does not exist.

All cables and linkages are intact, I'm loosing my mind here. I thought I'd get some help already but I'm loosing my patients with it. I can't really afford to, but I'm going to TRY and load it and take it to club car, last resort I guess, I've looked and tried everything!

Going to the dealer now, hope I don't get rapped! Look, I'm not trying to piss people off, but what are TECH/OWNER forums for? I'm registered on 6 other forums for car, truck, and quad stuff, and they actually respond when a fellow owner needs help. I know everyone looks at post #'s here, just like all other forums, I needed help and I assumed the best place to start was here! I'm not a dumbass that hasn't turned a wrench in my life, I am a gearhead, car guy, and NEW to these things, so I asked for help. I know it takes time to get replys, but wow(I work 50-60+ hrs. a week and can help if I'm knowledgeable in a certain area, even if they are a Newbie), most forums return a useful answer sooner than this. I like it here, just wanted help.

And perhaps it has us stumped as well and chose not to clutter the thread
with non helpful remarks.
Put it back the way it was. Then see if you caused some thing else.
