Default Can I use this?

Hey,

I was called with an offer.. the owner wants to sell me a Briggs & Stratton 18HP Twin-Cylinder, its not a V-Twin. Would that work? I'm guessing that its this. Could I put this in my Club Car?

But, I have a feeling that this would definatly not work, if its not how the Golf Cart motor is, horizontal.

haha, never mind. I got a picture and wow, well let me just post it cause its really old. Never mind about that question, I think its dumb. But here is the picture of it.

Wow, this is so old and rusted. Its amazing, I wouldn't even want to shoehorn this into my cart. The reason I'm looking for a new motor is cause I found a brand new Briggs 16HP motor for $ 300.00 and I'm waiting a bit to see if I can pay $ 300 for a new motor instead of paying $ 300 to make this one work.

don,t give up with that engine yetget a few more comments 1st...............lots of vguys have used similar engines, don,t get me wrong you can,t just throw that engine in there but there are adaptor kits and all kind of things you can do......................is it costly? i think so but i have never done one have just read hundreds of threads on this so don,t throw in the towel yet........i think it will come down to how much do you want to spend to make it work................good luck..................................

Is that a vertical shaft? If it is, it won't work on your cart.

Those older opposed cylinder engines have a tendence of puk'in the valve seats out of them due to heat issues.
Hold out and try to go "V". Alot of updated technology and material quality in them.
