Recently aquired a gas club car
I have no idea if it takes regular gas or mix? What year it is? Thanks to someone on in the forum I was able to download and print a wiring diagram. The car came to me with the wiring harness in a box. Here is the serial number AG90C2196948.
Any considerations on this would be greatly appreciated. As this is the first time doing any thing like this. Thanks look forward to hearing from any one with info. scrootertash@msn.com |

Re: Recently aquired a gas club car
Make sure it isn't over filled with oil, that will make it smoke. running it a little while might clear it up if it has been sitting for a while and the oil ring is stuck. Shoot some wd-40 or marvel oil down the plug hole and let it sit for a while and every once in a while go by and rock the crank back and forth to work the rings. If not then it might be time for a set of rings and/or valve job.
The little hose could be a bowl vent tube that just hangs down. Check it for blockage. |

Re: Recently aquired a gas club car
I would like to thank everyone for all their advice. Unfortunately here are the results of everything I did. I put marvel oil let it sit overnight cranked it over a few times with an old plug in it. Installed a new air cleaner checked the vent hose for blockage. Changed the oil, installed new plug, cleaned off rust from the flywheel/magneto. Started it and let it run for about ten minutes with the wheels off the ground. It now smokes worst then ever also there is about 1/2" of play back and forth in the crankshaft. Not up and down just back and forth. I spoke to rep at GOLF CARS OF RIVERSIDE INC. in Riverside ca. He said it was probably time to rebuild for approx. $1300 way too much to me to afford for now. So again thanks to everyone for replying to my inquery's.

Re: Recently aquired a gas club car
$1300 for him to rebuild or you could get the kit and do it yourself with the help of a manual and us or look for a good compression motor from a big block swap. Plenty of options........
Don't throw in the towel yet. |
