voltage regulator
I was told to change my voltage regulator because I can't get my cart running. It seems that the battery doesn't have enough to juice to turn it over. I have a 1993 and the old voltage regulator has 3 wires and all the new ones that say will fit it have 4 wires. What should do?

Re: voltage regulator
If your regulator replacement does not fix the problem, read this thread, It has some extensive information about generator/starter problems.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...tor-101-a.html It is long and may not at first seem related to your problem, but, if your generator/starter is not working right, just read it. It would have also told you how to test to be sure you really needed that regulator before you spent the money on it. |

Re: voltage regulator
I thank you for your time and I did read your posts. I will try some of the things that you suggested to check the generator. We did replace the brushes and the cart did run after we were done. We thought we had the problem fixed at that point but it was short lived. The cart behaved the same way as it did before. the motor would crank but not enough to turn it over, then would do nothing. Thats when we tried the voltage regulator. I did get a new battery when this started thinking thats all it was

Re: voltage regulator
I connected jumpers to the generator and it turned over. We got the cart running but later in the day it stopped because the battery was almost dead. Please what causes the battery to not charge???????????????????????

Re: voltage regulator
Go back and read the post I linked to and do the tests for the regulator.
