Default Club Car Power Spring

I started to replace the original spring with the power spring and noticed that the power spring is wound the opposite way. Does anyone know why? Does it matter? This is for a '92 DS.

Thanks,
Greg

Sounds like you have the wrong spring, the same spring fits 86-09 DS and 04-09 Precedent i think. Are you sure it is the right spring?

Thanks,

I believe we had a rather heated discussion one time about this....and I THINK Tom@CPP finally chimed in and said It didn't matter which way the spring went. (Dont quote me on that, might be wrong. I'm sure he'll be in later and post)

Well, it is wound the opposite direction. But, does it really matter? I'm going to call Tom at CPP Monday morning.

Thanks Roady. I took so long typing that you slipped one in on me. I tried to find a similar post but couldn't. Hope Tom has the answer.

Thanks papaw. That is the only spring CPP has for the CC Ds. I wish I understood more about it, though. Seems that in one direction the spring would the tend to unwind causing an outward force to hold the clutch sheaves together and the other direction the spring would wind tighter and allow the sheaves to open easier. But, if it works ok, I'll just go along with that!
