battery drain
have a neighbor that wants me to look at his 92 club cart. it good for awhile-he picked it about 3 mo. ago-..now he says he can't start it unles he jumps it. says he can charge the batts, run awhile, put to bed and the next morn dead batt. only thing he knows is when he turns it off he can hear a buzzing from the black box next to the batt. i have no clue what is in there, what is, and any ideas? jim

sounds like he might have a stuck soleniod, next time it does this take cover off box and if its the soleniod try tapping it lightly see if it quits..............the only other thing in there is the voltage regulator and i never heard one of them buzzing........................................... ........

before i even got to his house the neighbordecided to check his batt water-none in one cell. we think it is time for a new one as this one is an o2 model.
hope that will fix it. the solenoid works fine..thx. jim |

you could try adding water and charging before he buys a new batt. Also, when you get it going, put a volt meter on it. It could be charging way high (bad regulator) and boiling the water out of the battery. It should be about 14.5 (give or take a half volt or so) when running wide open (in maintenance mode). If your seeing 16 volts or more, it's going to kill the batt. You need a voltage regulator.
