Default driven clutch machining

how much should i machine off the driven clutch on a club car w/fe290? just ordered 200 rpm drive spring, torque spring, timing advance key, carb jet and k n air filter. my neighbor is retired machinist w/ complet shop in his garage will all these parts and machine work make a very noticable differance? I have an 2006 carryall with 8" lift, 2" aluminum wheel spacers all around and 27x 12x 12 superswampers rear 27x10x12 on front thanks, Bill

It's to my understanding that you don't machine the faces of the clutch,
but, you remove material at the shaft stop to make the driven clutch open wider,

To be totally honest, I'm not a machinist, fabricator, or a welder, so I'm not sure how it's done,
I'm throwing this out there before you have to get a new clutch!

Carts Parts Plus machines driven clutches, and I'm not sure they'll reveal their secret!
But you never know, because their "good people"!
(I haven't had CPP do it for me yet... but I will... oh yes... I will!)

well, i broke my driven clutch while removing it. I was going to tinker around with it some while i hunt for a new body for the cart. only upside is i was able to get a measurement of the thickness of the flat lands on the faces of the clutch. both pieces i measured came out to be right about 1/8" i suppect there may have been some dirt. (Actual measurements came out to .126, & .1275" on cheapy calipers) so now i wonder how much do you machine off and still have enough beef/support there? .015" - .020" ?

i will post pictures of the broken pieces i took measurements off of. i was only able to doing the moving sheeve. didnt take any specs off the fixed side. they should be pretty close. remember to take off the same off both faces otherwise the angle/profile where the belt rides may be off and cause unusual bealt wear.
