Same problem/just sits at idol
I have the same problem as JoelFoy posted. When I run my 93 cart for a long distance it is like I run out of gas. I thought I fixed it with the ground wire off of the voltage regulator. I taped it up and it worked for a while, it seems like an electric problem. When I push the accelerator it will not go. I just sits there at idol. Sometimes it will go a couple of feet and then just sit there at idol again.

Re: Same problem/just sits at idol
I will check tonight if it is just starting over and over or just idoling. It will move a couple of feet if I let off of the gas pedal a little, but it is only off and on a couple feet at a time...

Re: Same problem/just sits at idol
I checked and it is at idle and not just cranking over and over again. Could this be the voltage regulator. I had this trouble before and the ground wire was touching metal. I put tape over it and it ran fine for a while. I don't know why it works without the ground???

Re: Same problem/just sits at idol
no. this has nothing to do with the voltage regulator. The regulator controls the charging of the battery. That is all. The thing you are calling the voltage regulator, is it inside the black plastic box with your solenoid or are you calling the little box on the lower front of the motor the voltage regulator? That thing on the front of the motor is actually the RPM limiter and it could cause running issues.

Re: Same problem/just sits at idol
This may or may not help.. when I left the white&white/blk wires off my ignition switch my cart did exactly what your describing. I drove for a mile or so just fine and then it would just idle with pedal on the floor. You may have a problem with those color wires or maybe even the ignition switch.
