It is a year 2000 Turf II XRT. It is a special edition 'Ingersall Rand' cart. It came from a rental fleet and it has a healthy 350cc motor. It came with a Z lift and 22s wedged under it. They rubbed. So a Jakes 3" was added to the front and a Jakes 6 inch was installed in the rear.....So here is how it sits now.....
BEFORE ![]() AFTER ![]() ![]() I bought two more carryalls yesterday a 98 and a 99....both of them would be poorboy classified |

I have two things I want to ask for help on....First is the throttle on this cart....There is not much slow speed seems like it is all or nothing.
Second is a weird sound when coasting when the engine shuts off there is a sound like metal drug across concrete....if I throw the switch in neutral it stops and if I put it back in gear it starts again.. Not real loud but audible. Any ideas on this ? |

Scotty it sounds like a clucth problem. As for the speed, check the carb.

I have a new driven clutch. It did it before I put it on... How do you explain the fact that it stops when you put the cart in neutral ? I am new to these clutches stuff and

One person on here had the "all or nothing" throttle issue on his cart and he came to find out that the throttle butterfly was gone. Go ahead and take it off/inspect it. As for the noise, I'm not sure. If you could get a video or a recording of the sound that would help tremendosley. (thats spelled wrong I'm sure.

Scotty,
The noise you hear are the transaxle gears!!! after the engine shuts off while coasting down a hill, the transaxle whines, because it's still in gear! It's normal! (mine does the same thing!) |

Have you tried running another one of your carts down a hill to see if there is a difference in the sound? and... did you check your transaxle gear lube level yet? Sorry... I'm still fairly new at this also! |

Yeah I'd replace the lube/oil/grease in the tranny. Sounds like its really thin or something. Pull the cargo bed up while driving and see if you can figure out the area that it lurks from.

I want to change the gear oil tomorrow when I get home. There is about 3 hrs of light left when I get home now and temp around 65-70 degrees...perfect for wrenching in the driveway....guilty, have not checked the oil.. will do so and then dump it. I let you know..
