Help With Rear Struts For Factory Top
I am working on a 1999 Club Car DS according to serial plate and taking off a home made rear seat kit (junk). I ordered a new set of rear struts for this model but they look too tall. I am still awaiting on the seat back supports to come in, but every cart pic I find looks different. I ordered these from Nivel part #'s 13768 and 13769 Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks I will try and get pics today. |

Re: Help With Rear Struts For Factory Top
I just measured a set of roof struts removed from my 99 CC Rose. 21" from where they attach at the roof and the right angle at the lower fitting point. From your picture though, mine doesn't have the final 90 degree vertical drop but stops at the horizontal. I'd be happy to send them to you if you like, I have no use for them, or the rest of the assembly for that matter.
Hope that helps, Chris. |

Re: Help With Rear Struts For Factory Top
I'm still confused by the "factory roof support" deal...
The roof supports on my cart angled rearward to connect to the club bag holder, so when I installed the rear seat, bringing the supports fwrd to a vertical position angled the top of the support and made them too high: I was in a hurry to get the cart back into use, so you can see that I just removed a bolt from each side of the mount on the roof, forcing the rear of the roof up. (and yes, the remaining bolts vibrated loose on several occasions) I'm going to bend the top of the supports down this winter, but it still looks like the support itself is too tall. |

Re: Help With Rear Struts For Factory Top
You have the later style roof and supports PIB. I believe that the ones Rose is looking for attach along the trailing edge of the roof whereas yours mount along the forward facing rear of the roof. I'm not entirely sure why they changed the style but I have seen many of the earlier style roofs cracked at the attachment points so perhaps they were rectifying a design flaw ?
