Default remove airbox??

Hey everyone. I have a 99 club car and Was wondering if anyone knows if you can remove the air box and put the universal K&N air filter kit from cartpartsplus on it. I wanted to remove the original airbox to gain some room for a bigger battery and to get rid of the damaged box. Has anyone done this? Do you think I would have a problem with the carb needing to be rejetted. I have done the jet from cart parts plus already.

to remove the box, un bolt it from under it. should be 3 tek screws, or use a 5/15 socket. i have heard if you go with a k and n filter you will have to up your jet size 1 or 2 sizes higher, or more bigger. but if you are getting the kit from tom at ccp, tell him what you got, what you want and he will advise you the best way to git r dun!

Yep... what ck said!

Sadly, Club Cars are REALLY "finicky" with their fuel/air mixture, and when you remove the air box, You'll have to rejet again!
and sometimes the CC's just don't run like they should after that mod, but Tom may be able to get you on the right track!

And 1 last point... You won't have a choke anymore, and it's to my understanding,
that there are no aftermarket choke systems for the CC/Kawi carb.

Just a couple of things to consiter before removing your airbox!

thanks for the advice. I actually just sent the clutches out to tom to get the one machines and for him to check the other. I will call him to see what jet might work. I'm not to worried about the choke since when I bought it, someone took it off already.
