95 club car DS random shutting off
Im kinda new with club cars problems, Cart will crank sometimes an then no start (not firing at plug) I replaced the ignition switch because sometimes i would have no spin an caught it intermittly would not send fire to the solonoid, could wiggle key and gain fire back to solonoid. Also found where rat had chewed wire into going to what looks like a oil press switch. When it cranks its like nothing is wrong, what can cause me to have fire and then loose it? It may crank 4 times before you have a no crank (random) One other thing=the micro switch that has 2 white/black wires coming off of it---if it is not cranking i can touch that terminal with my test light and then it may crank up=like it is grounging through my test light.
Thanks Johnny Watkins |

Re: 95 club car DS random shutting off
Well , I got the rev limiter in today and installed and I still have a no fire condition//// I could still bypass the rev limiter and it would still crank. OK now the fix==the wire that goes back to what looks like an oil pressure switch that i fixed where a rat had chewed it into--well back up towards the front of motor where this wire passes through a wire bracket that holds the wire away from the clutch it had a raw spot in that bracket that was grounding the wire to block. Thought this may help someone else down the road.

Re: 95 club car DS random shutting off
Yes gleemo, I got it fixed. That wire coming off of the rev limiter that plugs into the coil feed wire and then goes over to back side on passanger side of block to what looks like an oil switch . That wire was grounding out on the block right where it passes through a wire loom holder right above the drive clutch. That wire i guess is what kills the engine , because with it unplugged cart will not shut off no matter what you do (key, gas pedal, foward/rev switch)will not shut it down,. nothing like a good ol but whooping=but i learned a lot about club cars ignition system in the process.
