gas cart runs very slow
My adult kids drove my cart and now it runs slow. They said it may have gotten over heated. Any ideas on how to fix it are appreciated.

Re: gas cart runs very slow
I think my cart is an 05..I will have to check. By slow I mean one or two miles per hour. It will go in a forward direction but will not accelerate. Is it possible to drive the cart for too long or too far at one time? I know on a golf course it is a lot of stop and go. It is not smoking. It was used when I got it and it has alway jerked some when it starts moving forward or reverse.

Re: gas cart runs very slow
No not really unless it was over revving when it happened and it has a rev-limiter to keep this from happening.
Check muffler/exhaust pipe to make sure they did not hit anything which would crimp it ? |

Re: gas cart runs very slow
If its not the exhaust. Take the hose that runs to the air cleaner off the carb and with the key off press the throttle and make sure the butterfly is opening. It may just be a cable problem. Check the cable from governor to carb and from the solenoid box to the governor. I had a guy bring me his with the same problem and the cable in the solenoid box had to much slack and just jumped off the cam in the box and would not accelerate. Took me ten minutes and earned me a case of beer. Not bad.

No thunder here, but I do believe that it's a cable or the Gov spring... We'll soon see! |
