1985 CC w/flathead need coil?
Hello, i'm new here and have spent a while reading other threads. i've been trying to track down a bit of help with the ignition coil on club car 1985.cart was running and quit. NO Spark. checked all limit switches and oil bypass switch. disconnected kill switch lead from system, still no spark. exciter coil under flywheel is giving juice. think my ignition coil/rpm limiter is bad. can't find one for sale. maybe there is a retrofit or i don't know... any help is greatly appreciated!! sorry for such a long thread start.

Re: 1985 CC w/flathead need coil?
I was reading a thread last night about testing a coil with a meter... does anyone know what i should be getting from each lead. i have three wire plug plus separate lead and then spark plug wire. from what i believe are primary (red to brown) i get very low ohms like direct contact .3 ohms. from (red to white) i get 148.8 and the same for (brown to white) 148.8 ohms.... on stacked iron outside coil to (red) i get low ohms .8 ohms....same for (brown) to stacked iron .8 ohms.... white to stacked iron i get 149.6ohms..... separate lead has no continuity to any other source... same for the spark plug wire port(i took out spark plug wire to eliminate that from possible bad readings) spark plug wire port to all other sources is no continuity. anyone have info on this that could help? i think it's a bad coil but maybe i'm missing something.

Re: 1985 CC w/flathead need coil?
I have quite a few used parts from my 84 gas club car. 341cc KF82 engine. They were all working when myself or the shop pulled them off. Why replace them you ask? I like new stuff when I am trying to get the cart to run at it's optimum and some of these parts are original. Price's are cheap ....you handle shipped cost. Not returnable.
Carburetor.....needs rebuild kit.................$25 Muffler..........needs paint job..................$80 Rev Limiter.....checked out before removal.........$50 Ignition coil..... Re: 1985 CC w/flathead need coil?
there is no fool proof way of testing any of the coils.......the only way to be sure is by using a known good one.............they go bad in several different ways and because one works on the bench dosn,t mean it won,t fail after 10 minutes in the cart..........new exitor coils are very hard to come by now however you can still buy the coil and the rpm limitor....need to warn you the limitors arn,t cheap.................................

Re: 1985 CC w/flathead need coil?
Thanks for the reply. I guess when you need one bad price can't be held as an issue, so i guess i will pay the price as this cart is a one owner and is like new as far as condition. Kinda like a classic car. Just a meer 203.00 for a 60.00 part!!!!!!! Thanks again
