I need more torque!!!
I'm thinking the best route is regearing but what are some other options? I have had the secondary machined and a spring put in it already but I would like more torque for climbing hills.
Also, what is involved in regearing? Does the transaxle need to be completely removed from the cart? How much benifet is there to converting it to a posi rear end while I'm at it? Sorry for all the questions but I want to do things right the first time. Tom |

BU posi= potential blowing up of transaxle. Regearing would be a reasonable option, but I would recomend a Big Block kit. That would be great for your cart. They also sell a Drive clutch HD spring.

I'm gald that we all agree. You really don't have a choice Viper. Either get a big block, or TNG will kick you off the forum. (thats what happend to No-No just no one knows...)

I guess it will have to be a big block. I picked up an old 440 snowmobie and I was going to put that engine in it but the 39 year old sled was in to good of condition. After more thought I want to keep it a 4-stroke. A guy I work with has a 16hp B&S V-twin that I can get cheap. Its a 1" horizonal shaft so from what I read it shoud work but I'm wondering if that would be big enough? I don't really need more speed...just more torque for hills and mud. Tom |
