Default Leak after winter rest

Hello all! My 1999 Gas Club Car had a puddle under it from it's winter rest (long winters in NH). It looks to be transmission fluid - certainly not oil, dip stick reads ok. The red light also come on after 5 to 10 minutes of running. Any thoughts on what wrong and how to fix?

First off...

to BGW!

Next...

Did you look Up, underneath your cart to see where the leak is coming from?

If it's not engine oil...
My guess, is that the puddle is 80-90W gear lube coming from the rear end/axle/Transaxle...
Here is a way to check the level, and change your gear lube!
Get your cart up on ramps, or jack stands, and look for the fill and drain plugs on the rearend.

Here's a few pics to give you an idea where to look:

(this one is for the Kawasaki "Unitized" Transaxle on 2002 or newer)

On yours... there maybe 2 places to check...
(These pics are from a 94 "project" cart I'm working on)

This one is on the upper section (passenger side) of the transaxle:

and here's another for the lower section (drivers side)

First... find out where the leak is coming from... repair it if possible...
Then, drain and refill your Transaxle with fresh 80-90W gear lube!

As for your oil light...
get a can of "Seafoam" carb cleaner, and follow the directions to add to your engine oil...
drain a few oz. of engine oil, and add some Seafoam, (Do NOT overfill!)
then, ride around on your cart for 15 minutes or so,
to see if it frees up your oil level sensor, and your light won't come on anymore,
then give it a complete oil change!
If that doesn't work... then you may need to replace your sensor!

let us know what you find!

Correction:

Quote:
"get a can of "Seafoam" carb cleaner,"
It should be:

"Seafoam" Engine Treatment!

Yep...

For gasoline and diesel fuel, 2 and 4 cycle engines, cleans carbs and fuel injectors, add to gas or oil...

The reason I did the correction was in case anyone looks for Seafoam "Carb Cleaner"
and all they can find is Seafoam "Engine Treatment"!
