Default starter bearing bad

My starter bearing is bad and I cant get it off the shaft any suggestions before i take it to a starter shop.
I took the brushes out ( I thought th enoise might be brushes and bought some of them ) took the end of starter off and it wasn't shuck pretty good ( I think because of a press fit for the bearing ) but it came off ok. I cant get the bearing off the shaft. It is hard to get a hold of it without a tool I am thinking so dose anyone have a trick. I heated it with a small tourch and tapped to no avail. So before I take it or tear it up I am looking for help.

Andy

Great minds and all that I use an air driven cut off wheel to do the same thing. Just be careful to protect the windings from flying sparks ( I use a damp towel) and TAKE YOUR TIME. You don't want to create to much heat also, when you are almost through cutting the inner bearing race, support the shaft and give the cut area a sharp tap with a cold chisel. They usually snap at this point and leave no damage to the shaft.
