Default 2001 CC bogs down

New here, need help. I have a 2001 cc six seater, 350 engine, that has been hard to start and bogs down easily when cold. It had been sitting around a long time, smelled like old gas. I took a jet out and found it gummed up so I took the carb apart and cleaned it as best I could. The float valve seat is plastic and I could not see how to take it out. I just sprayed the car body with cleaner. The bowl and jets went in the carb cleaner. Put it back together and it is no better. I did not see any way to adjust the float valve. What next?

Try replacing the gas and taking the carb completely apart for cleaning. Including the bowl. Maybe even throw in some STP fuel treatment stuff. Let us know, Austin

I had cleaned the Carb. My initial post should have said that I sprayed the carb, not sprayed the car. Anyway, still not running right. I took the tank intake out, and it was gummed up - cleaned it. When I looked in the fuel tank, there was some dark stuff at the bottom, poked at it and it had the consistency of thick crude oil. Soooo.... I took the gas tank out. Was that ever fun. Got it cleaned and back in. It is running better, but still not like it should. Can the fuel pump get gummed up too? Can it be cleaned or do I need a repair kit? TIA.

Hello Patwa,

When something isn't work, do it step by step, just to eliminate the possibyllitys.

So when the tank is as dirty as you say, start at the tank, buy a new gas filter, clean the pump (Buy a new membrane set, isn' t much $), carbcleaning in all holes, (soak it, than blow through all holes)
take new gashoses, clean the airfilter.

I do not really (Dutch...) understand, did you take out the float?
No, you can take the pin out of the place where the float is atached at the carb.
When it is stuck, take a litle nail to get it out.
Then you can see and take out the needle.
Is the point and seat nice and smooth and 100% closing?
Hold the carb on top with the float and needle in it.
When you blow (with your mouth) on the gashose / gasintake, you have to feel a little resistance before the float go's up, otherwise it is leaking.
But it has to open enough.....

I don't know the floatlevel of your cart but in mine it has to close when the float is horizontal.
Maybe you can find the mm in a repairbook.

Can you adjust the stationairy /idlescrew?, after the cleaning do it.
General:
When it was better driving after the cleaning you did, you are on the right trail.

Take all your lines and filters off and run compressed air through them. As well as your fuel pump.
