Default Any suggestions on where to start??

I have a 2004 gas club car, key start, transporter. Everything was fine yesterday and today when we went to start it, the generator/battery roll the engine over, but it won't fire up. I checked the spark, has plenty and changed the plug. It appears to be getting gas and the fuel pump and carb have also been opened and jets cleaned etc, etc.

All wires to the rev limiter are connected and tight. All fuses are good. If i hold my hand over the carb intake while i crank it, and let it off it seems to want to start, but then back to the generator rolling the engine.

It acts like its getting a kill signal from something, but i don't know what. I even changed the relay in the electrical box, but no difference. ANy suggestions on what to check next??

Thanks.

ALL engines require only basics to run; Fuel / air, spark and compression at the right time. Your "kill signal" comment makes no sense since you have a spark and that's how CC shuts down the engine during a high RPM situation. Your "hand on the carb intake however makes more sense. You are choking the carburettor which points to a fueling issue. Check out the fuel pump delivery, float valve etc. Heck, slacken the fuel filler cap and be sure that the vent is clean.
Hope that helps get you started.
Clean carb my arse, I've seen a bunch of very dirty "clean carburettors"

Spray starting fluid into the intake, if it starts momentarily it's a fuel delivery problem. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Maybe replace that. Then tear into the carb.
