Make sure "R" on top of piston is on same side as the 5 raised letters on the rod. Also should face toward flywheel. Did you get the email i sent you?

I opened my motor up earlier and it seems like the rod and piston are in backwards? I do get a knock out of the motor and i had the whole thing pulled to changed out the mouter mounts and fix the plate the motor is mounted to. figured I would dig into it to see if I could discover the source of the knock. Connection rod was broken by previous owner and new one installed. I had been in there to replace install the splasher arm and work on the cam but never checked the piston. It seems there is some side to side play.

One side of the piston has a bunch of japanese writting and the other side also has a raised 2 and then a penguin/9 looking logo at the bottom. which side goes towards the fly wheel?
