Spinner
I have a 1998 Club Car Gas that has a newer drive clutch and belt. When I step on the gas I get a fast spining sound that comes from the gear box after the clutch engages and powers the driven clutch. Unfortunantly I have never opened the gearbox in anyway and think I may have burnt up a gear or bearing. Does anybody have an opinion as to what I have described and if special tools are required to pull the gearbox apart for inspection.
Thanks for the feedback! -Dave |

Re: Spinner
Dave, I have had 2 different carts in my shop that made these 'spinning'
sounds. One had the nut missing off the rear clutch, and, the woodruff key had worked it's way out, letting the clutch spin free. The other had a loose pulley on the starter. These are 2 easy things to check before you tear the gears apart. |

Re: Spinner
Thanks Big Bump...That is exactly the type of response I was hoping to hear.
I will take a looks at these two items and post my findings. Thanks again, -Dave |
