'93 DS voltage regulator

I've got a '93 Club car that has gone through 4 voltage regulators in as many years. The last one I bought only lasted a couple of months. Any suggestions to troubleshoot what may be causing this would be greatly appreciated.

welcome to BGW i think its the quaility of the parts they make but let me ask how high is voltage getting? anything over 15.7 volts isn,t good...............................

When I first installed the last one the voltage was in the normal range. I didin't check it periodically though.
Can a better quality on be bought?

i,m not sure what the dealers are selling......but that would be safest bet.......they arn,t making them like the old ones......your not hooking all 4 wires up are you? the new ones theres a real long black wire with a slide on end just tape that up and don,t use it.............................

No just the three, but I wasn't taping up the fourth maybe thats causing my problem. Thanks for your help.

Is that black wire not a ground wire? Why don't you hook it up on the new regulators?
