Smile Tried out today but problems!!!

I finally put the rear body back on the 86 CC DS this afternoon. Took it for a test drive, run great as if fresh out of the factory. However, I stopped to let my wife have a turn at the helm, and when she got in and depressed the gas pedal, nothing, only heard the solinoid come in. Turned the starter Gen sheave wheel some and she tried to run backwards some, but went the other way and finally died again. Pushed back to the shop. Took the SG apart and found the brushes were good, almost new! however one spring that holds down one of the brushes was very weak and the rest were kind of struck in the holders and the commutator had some splash on it also.
Blew the thing out, repositioned the spring as it was put in wrong, Cleaned up the comm, reinstalled, now she starts all the time and puts out 14.5Volts.
Wahoo!! What next??? She's 25 years old!!
